Environmental Noise Surveys and Monitoring

PKA has prepared thousands of environmental noise assessments for projects of all sizes. Many of them need noise surveys on site to establish the existing noise environment, and these surveys often run for a week or more.

Because surveys take time to organise and complete, please contact us as early in the process as possible. We can advise on the time needed so it can be worked into your program.

Construction Noise and Vibration Monitoring

Some sites need noise or vibration monitoring during construction. We provide the monitoring equipment, coordinate installation and maintenance, interpret the data and prepare the reporting.

During works on the Hill and Bradman Grandstands at the Sydney Cricket Ground, the site sat right beside the active soundstages of Fox Studios, and aircraft overflights were louder than the construction noise criteria. We designed and commissioned a real-time monitoring system that emailed warnings when high levels were recorded and let construction staff listen in to each monitoring station, so they could tell construction noise from aircraft or filming and only act when they needed to.
