Assessing How a Site Performs

Whether it is a building, a piece of plant or a whole workplace, we assess how it performs acoustically against the criteria that apply. Our surveys identify the problem areas, then individual noise sources can be assessed for treatment.

Mechanical Plant and Industrial Noise

We assess noise from cooling towers, chillers, refrigeration plant, air conditioning units and fans, from industrial scale to residential, both to internal spaces and to neighbouring properties. Treating the noisiest item is not always the most efficient answer. In some cases treating several slightly quieter items is easier and cheaper for the same overall result, and our experience helps us find the most efficient solution.

Occupational Noise and Hearing Loss Surveys

Under the Work Health and Safety Regulations, managers must identify, assess and control noise in the workplace. We carry out noise audits across a site and, using noise dosemeter readings or worker activity schedules, build a profile of each employee’s noise exposure.

Where levels exceed the limits, we design engineered noise controls first, and advise on suitable personal protective equipment where it is still required.
