Legal Acoustic Documentation

Acoustic investigations and reports for strata disputes and commercial litigation, formatted as your solicitor requires for the relevant tribunal or court.

Acoustic Evidence for Disputes

PKA has carried out many acoustic investigations as part of commercial litigation, including strata matters involving sound transfer through dividing floors and walls, and noise from hydraulic services and mechanical plant.

Testing and Reporting

We carry out acoustic testing and inspections to determine the existing sound levels or sound insulation, and compare the results with the Building Code of Australia, the relevant Australian Standards and any contractual obligations. We prepare detailed reports for the relevant tribunal or court, formatted as your solicitor requires.

Strata By-Laws and Hard Floors

Hard floor installations cause many noise complaints in apartment buildings, and disputes can be long and expensive. We help strata committees understand their responsibilities, decide what level of isolation suits their building and draft a by-law or guideline for future applications.

Where results do not meet the requirements, we design acoustic controls that do, working with the existing structure to keep costs and disruption down.
